Dallop NM

Urological Tape for the Surgical Treatment of Urinary Incontinence

Product Description
Non-resorbable surgical urological tapes are knitted from transparent, monofilament polypropylene yarn.

The device is equipped with blue handles made of monofilament polypropylene yarn, protected by a heat-shrinkable tube cover, facilitating attachment to the applicator. Product composition: 100% polypropylene.

Intended Use

Dallop® NM urological tape is recommended for use during surgical procedures to treat stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Surgical treatment of urinary incontinence involves suspending the urethra with tension-free urological tape. The device is intended for implantation using the following methods: Tension-Free Vaginal Tape (TVT), Trans Obturator Tape (TOT), or Tension-Free Vaginal Tape-Obturator (TVT-O). The physician selects the optimal method. Dallop® NM tapes can be implanted using both the inside-out and outside-in methods. Specially designed applicators, depending on the chosen method, allow for safe insertion of the tape into the patient’s body.

Dallop® NM urological tape is characterized by:

  • low linear mass,
  • atraumatic edges,
  • biostability, ensuring it does not lose its physical properties during prolonged contact with tissues and body fluids,
  • a porous structure that minimizes the risk of bacterial infection,
  • an optimally designed spatial structure, where the pore size allows for rapid overgrowth with connective tissue,
  • lack of irritation and allergenic activity,
  • lack of cytotoxicity and genotoxicity,
  • lack of systemic toxicity,
  • minimal foreign body reaction confirmed in long-term in vivo studies.

Dallop® NM urological tape does not contain substances of allogenic or animal origin.

Apyrogenic product

  1. Sterilisation

Dallop® NM urological tapes are offered for sale sterilized using ethylene oxide (EO) sterilization. The product cannot be resterilized. This type of sterilization is typical for medical devices made of polypropylene.

  1. Technical parameters

  • Low linear mass
Low linear mass ensures patient comfort. Trends in the design of innovative medical implants are aimed at using the minimum amount of foreign material possible.
  • Two tape sizes (lengths) to choose from: 60 cm and 45 cm
    Optimal width
The appropriately selected width allows for low linear mass, which prevents urethral erosion.
  • High porosity and varied pore size
The porosity of the tape and the varied average pore size ensure proper healing of the tape while improving urethral function. Low elasticity allows for better tape fit. The weave also minimizes the typical several percent long-term shrinkage of polypropylene.
  • Apropriate yarn
The tape is made of polypropylene monofilament yarn.
The yarn thickness, adapted to the large pore size, provides the required strength. This parameter ensures a relatively large unit contact surface with the soft tissue, thus preventing tape ingrowth, cutting, and erosion of the urethra and bladder.
